Live Nativity Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not required, but strongly recommended in order to minimize your wait time.  We expect a large number of visitors and priority will be given to those with reservations. If you do not make a reservation, please look for the stand by line. No one will be turned away.

How early should I arrive for the Live Nativity presentation?
Please arrive at least 30 to 40 minutes before the reserved time to allow time for parking and check-in.  We take groups to the seating 15 minutes before the presentation. If you are unable to make it in time you can still join the stand-by line for subsequent presentations.  The presentation is 30 minutes.

What is the location of the Live Nativity?
2100 California Circle, Rancho Cordova, CA. It is very close to the Folsom Auto Mall. Exit Highway 50 on Folsom Blvd. and turn right toward the Auto Mall. Turn Left on Birkmont Dr. From there you will be able to follow signs to the parking for the Live Nativity. Upon parking, please proceed to the entrance (marked with a sign). There will be separate entrances for those with reservations, for those desiring to enter standby, and for those requiring special assistance.

What if it rains? How do I know if it is canceled or not?
Rain notifications will be published on this website and sent to you via email and text (if you provide your cell number). The nativity presentations are outdoors so rain could cause cancellations.

Is the Live Nativity wheelchair accessible?
Yes, there will be a separate entrance and exit for those requiring assisted seating.

Will I need to access stairs to participate in the event?
The general admission group will be lead down an accessible pathway but will exit the venue via a series of 20 steps. For those that may have difficulty, there will be an alternate path available.

Is there a price for admission?
There is no cost for this event. This is our gift to the community.

Who is responsible for this Live Nativity presentation?
The Folsom Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is providing this presentation of the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ as a gift to the community and as a reminder of the real reason we celebrate Christmas.

Where does the Live Nativity story come from?
This story and the narration for the presentation come from the King James Version of the Bible.

How will the reservation information be used?
Your email address and cell phone number will only be used for reservation and Live Nativity related reminders and updates, such as rain delays. Your reservation information will not be used for any other purpose.

How should I dress?
The venue is outside, and seating is primarily on straw bales. There is also an area in front where children and young families can sit on the cement patio. Please dress appropriately for the expected temperature.

Why did I receive an email copy of the reservation with a barcode?
In order to expedite the check-in process, each group will need to show their reservation on either a smart phone or a paper copy. If you are not able to do so, we can look up your reservation, but having the paper copy or your smart phone will expedite the check-in process.
